If there's one restaurant everybody seems to end up at in Jacó, it's Taco Bar — or TACOBAR, home of the "Killer Fish Tacos & Salad Bar." Tucked into the Jaco Walk open-air shopping center with a splashing fountain out front and rope-swing seats at the bar, it's a jungle-style, open-air spot that's become a Jacó institution. As your local private chef, people ask us where to eat on their own nights — and this one's always on the list. Here's the rundown.

Where it is & the vibe
Taco Bar sits inside Jaco Walk, the open-air shopping center right in the heart of Jacó. The whole place is designed jungle-style — hanging ferns, coconut lanterns, big ceiling fans, a fountain, and the famous swing seats hanging on ropes at the bar. It's open-air, easygoing, dog-friendly, and great for groups. The theme is fresh and healthy: "World Famous Tacos with all-you-can-eat salad bar," cool chill-out music, and a laid-back Costa Rican feel.

The tacos (and the salad bar)
The headliners are the "World Famous Tacos 1, 2, 3" — Baja-style and street-style tacos you mix and match your own proteins into: 1 taco ₡5,500, 2 tacos ₡6,850, 3 tacos ₡7,950, and the salad bar is included. Styles run from Classic (wheat flour tortillas) and Smash (grilled veggies & cheese) to Crispy, Birria (with melted cheese), and 3 corn taquitos (₡6,500). Then you pick proteins — fish tempura or grill, chicken fajitas, jerk chicken, Korean BBQ beef, pork birria, spicy chorizo, falafel, grilled veggies and more. Premium proteins (shrimp, grilled salmon, seared tuna, imported tenderloin, Philly cheese steak) are +₡1,000 per taco. One note: the salad bar is per-plate and individual — plates can't be shared.

Beyond tacos: bowls, plates, burgers & seafood
There's a lot more than tacos. Bowls and wraps (Asiatic Bowl ₡6,500, Karma Bowl ₡6,500, Quinoa Wrap ₡6,750, Super Burrito ₡6,950) come with the salad bar. The premium plates lean into fresh seafood — trout fillet ₡10,350, salmon fillet ₡11,350, mahi mahi ₡10,450, tuna steak ₡10,850, a whole fish ₡9,950, plus chicken breast ₡8,350 and smoked ribs ₡10,450, all with salad bar. Burgers run from an Angus burger (₡5,950 quarter-pound) up to the half-pound Angus Monster ₡8,950 and a tenderloin steak burger ₡9,900. Starters cover ceviche, Peruvian ceviche, tuna poke bowl, hummus, quesadillas, wings, nachos and fish fingers.

Drinks: smoothies, lemonades & a full bar
The drink list is huge and fits the fresh-and-healthy theme. There are superfood smoothies with almond milk (₡3,950), 100% real-fruit smoothies (₡2,950), fresh-squeezed lemonades and Italian sodas (₡2,950), iced teas and orange juice. The bar covers it too — cold beer (Imperial ₡2,200, Heineken ₡2,950, Corona and Stella ₡3,500), wine by the glass (₡4,500), exotic real-fruit summer cocktails and margaritas (₡5,200–₡5,500), sangrias, mojitos and the classic cocktails. Sales tax is included in the listed prices, plus a 10% service charge.
